Mindfulness Tool: Mantras
I meditate to understand my emotions and manage my stress. Even still, I have waves of emotion that catch me off guard.
When those waves hit me, I repeat this mantra to find my footing:
I am strong.
I am capable.
I am adaptable.
I am loved.
I am worthy.
I am enough.
I am whole.
Mindfulness is a way to stay anchored in our body. Mantras are a tool to facilitate mindfulness. I can be in this moment just how it is. I will not drown.
Triggers and emotions can feel overwhelming. You can take away their power by focusing on what you can control, your mind. This is done by shifting your mindset in small stages through practice.
Repeating a mantra is a way to take back your power. This choice reclaims your authority, allowing you to harness your energy. Once you are grounded in the present moment, you will be able to regain or change your perspective.
