Define Wholeness
Spring is a natural transition for the earth. It can also be a significant transition for us.
The days grow longer and warmer. We can rise up and stretch our arms to celebrate a brand new season offering us a new beginning.
Before we set out, let’s take the opportunity to define our direction.
The only way to feel successful is to know what success looks like. Otherwise, we can feel it and never recognize it for what it is. Wholeness works the same way.
We must each define wholeness for ourselves.
Feeling complete can look different for each person. We all have different experiences, circumstances, perspectives and desires. This makes the meaning of wholeness very different as well.
To me, wholeness means I manage my anxiety.
I often feel an onslaught of emotions that overwhelm me. I want to please others and try desperately to fit in. However, in this self-deprecating quest, I lose sight of myself, my needs and desires.
When I remember I have the power of choice, I am whole. When I feel confident to take up space and be heard, I am whole. When I feel accomplished and in control of my own day, I am whole.
Your definition of wholeness may look different than mine. That’s okay! It’s expected even. It could be going to bed at night without feeling the pressure or guilt of your to do list. Wholeness could mean speaking out in a meeting that you’ve been intimidated into silence. It could mean feeling like you aren’t broken, but worthy of happiness.
What does wholeness mean to you?
