You Are Unique
Feeling complete and satisfied looks different for everyone. We each have different experiences, circumstances, perspectives, needs and desires. This makes our meaning of wholeness very different as well.
What does wholeness mean to you?
To me, wholeness means my mind is at peace and I can accomplish tasks one at a time with a proportional amount of stress.
What do you need to acknowledge to understand this need or desire?
I must acknowledge my emotions as they surface and meet them with no judgement. I understand, especially as a highly sensitive person, that I will always have a wide range of emotions in my life. I don’t want to shy away from these (at times) intense feelings. Instead, I want to be able to wield them.
How can you take steps to achieve wholeness as you define it?
Mindfulness is my tool of choice. I acknowledge my reality without judgement so I can decide whether to accept it, change it or let it go. Through mindful action, I can process emotions as they come up instead of letting them sit and fester. This leaves me with the ability to be at peace, even when turbulence is happening around me.
My definition of wholeness is my choice based on my needs. However, wholeness may mean something different for you. It could be going to bed at night without feeling the pressure or guilt of your to do list. Wholeness could mean speaking out in a meeting that you’ve been intimidated in. It could mean feeling like you aren’t broken, but worthy of happiness.
Whatever wholeness means to you, embrace it! Understand your need or desire then take mindful action to fulfill it. Be complete and satisfied - feel whole.
