Wolf Moon
Tomorrow is the full moon, often called the “Wolf Moon.” The name came from Native American tradition to acknowledge the frequent howl of the wolves this time of year.
I love the wolf symbolism for January because it highlights the strategic, resourceful and communicative traits we need to call on during this seemingly barren time of year.
Like the wolf, we can form a plan of action. We don’t necessarily need to act on it yet, but having the foundations in place is invaluable for once our active energy swings back around. Now is the time to dream of what you want to manifest this year and bring it down to reality in clear, achievable steps.
We can be resourceful and imaginative. Some of the best ideas come from a need to make something out of what we have on hand. You don’t have to have the best equipment to create value. Your power is already in you, now it’s time to express it. How can you express yourself? Don’t be afraid to get creative and think outside the box.
Like wolves, we are social creatures. A wolf howls as a form of communication. Let yourself call out to family, friends and like minded people. This is your tribe. When we are feeling depleted, our tribe can lift us up. They can help us get going and keep moving. If you are feeling stuck, reach out to your community for creative solutions. You can reach out to me too.
You belong. You are worthy. You have valuable ideas that will benefit others when you share them.
This Full Moon is an invitation for opportunity. Form a plan, get resourceful and express your amazing self.
I love Amy Cesari’s affirmation for this moon: “I know and trust myself.” As you look up into the sky and see the moon shining bright, say that to yourself and believe it.
