New Beginnings
We had a big snow here in the Pacific Northwest a few weeks ago. I sat outside under the awning in awe at the peace radiating from my backyard.
The blanket of white stretched across the grass felt pure and tranquil. I got to thinking about how this is a perfect cleansing for nature and me as I begin to sow seeds of intention for spring.
Cleansing is a form of transformation. How would you feel to be free of unnecessary pressure? The ability to clear away the doubts within you is as powerful as it is possible.
So much of our self-judgement comes from other’s opinions and social constructs. Look inside yourself and decide whether those things are important to you or only someone else.
When I had a double mastectomy, I had to consider what it would mean to live as a woman without breasts. I did not want to undergo more surgeries to keep my “feminine” shape. I decided it was more important to me to be healthy than conform to society’s expectation of what a female looks like.
Deciding what was right for me, regardless of how others would view my situation, was cleansing to my soul. My transformation occurred when I let go of the need to please those around me and focus on my own well-being.
Looking out at the blanket of snow, I knew that this was going to be a new beginning for me.
The ability to decide for myself how I wanted to move forward gave me power from within. I let go of my doubt and owned my new identity.
You have the power within you to choose how you live. You can transform your doubt into confidence by letting go of pleasing others and instead look within. It is time for new beginnings and a fresh perspective. How can you please yourself?
